Carina comes to Rivers from Harvard University, where she is finishing her chemistry Ph.D. While at Harvard, she designed and taught a lab-based freshman seminar and served as a teaching fellow in an organic chemistry course for pre-med students. She has also mentored undergraduate students in independent lab research projects, and she was the recipient of Harvard's Bok Center Teaching Award (2016, 2017, 2018). Carina's sunny disposition and enthusiasm for science are sure to foster an interest and excitement about science in the ninth and tenth grade classes she will be teaching. She will also draw upon her extensive research experience to design electives for our upper level students.
Carina will receive her Ph.D. from Harvard this July. She graduated summa cum laude from Ithaca College with a B.S. in Chemistry. Carina grew up in the Boston area and has family here.
