The Rivers Fund

Every gift and every donor make a difference. Last year, The Rivers Fund reached new heights in alumni and parent participation—37 percent and 92 percent, respectively—and surpassed $3M for the first time in school history!

This year, we look forward to impacting the future for Rivers through your gift to The Rivers Fund.

Frequently asked questions about The Rivers Fund:

What does this fund support?
The Rivers Fund makes up just over 10 percent of our yearly operating budget. It helps us attract and retain the very best faculty, provide robust professional development, enhance our classrooms, improve our equipment, invest in technological innovation, and support financial aid. While unrestricted donations give us the latitude to invest in areas where the need is greatest, gifts can also be earmarked to support specific programs such as RSC, auxiliary financial aid, or athletics (just to name a few!).

Why is participation important to The Rivers Fund?
High participation rates demonstrate our community’s confidence in and commitment to Rivers. We believe that increased participation rates among our alumni and current parents also send a powerful message to prospective parents, letting them know that the community fully supports our mission and stands together.

How much should I give?
We ask that you make your best gift—a gift at a level that is meaningful to you. We invite current families, alumni, and friends to make Rivers their top philanthropic priority, while recognizing that the “correct” amount is different for each person. We celebrate all levels of participation in The Rivers Fund. Your gift helps build the school’s future and ensure a bright tomorrow for every student.

  • Planned Giving

The Nonesuch Society was established to recognize the generosity of alumni, parents, and friends who have made provisions for Rivers in their estate plans. When you include Rivers in your will, you play a significant role in helping future generations of Rivers students. At the same time, by taking advantage of tax laws that encourage philanthropy, making a bequest to Rivers can significantly reduce estate-tax burdens.

For more information about gifts to Rivers, such as bequests, living trusts, and gifts of life insurance or retirement plans, or if you would like more information about the Nonesuch Society, please contact Associate Head of School for Development and External Relations Krissie Kelleher at k.kelleher@rivers.org or 339-686-2236.
