From the first-time player on a Middle School team to the Division I-bound senior on a varsity squad, student athletes at Rivers receive expert coaching in programs that foster individual and team excellence. Rivers coaches are adept at pushing student athletes to be their best and are skilled at instilling a competitive edge, but not at the expense of  personal integrity or fairplay. Rivers is a member of the competitive 16-member Independent School League, and each season features matchups with league rivals, non-league schools, and post-season New England Tournament play.

Watch Red Wing livestreams for contests played indoors in Benson Gymnasium and MacDowell Arena and outdoors on Davis, Baker, and Nonesuch fields.

Athletic Philosophy

Rivers believes that involvement in interscholastic athletics is a meaningful and integral part of each student’s overall education. Athletics at Rivers complements our rigorous academic program and provides another arena in which students can excel. The personal growth and achievements realized by our student athletes provide them with a balance between academic pursuits, physical endeavors, and social interaction. Through our strong athletic programs, our student athletes learn and develop integrity, accountability, self-discipline, self-esteem, character, fairplay, commitment, decision-making skills, self-motivation, sacrifice, perseverance, courage, respect for self and others, and teamwork.
