NEPSAC Tournament Games Announced, Elizabeth Thayer '14 Earns All-New England For Cross Country

It has been another successful fall season for the Rivers Red Wings this year and it will continue for another week as NEPSAC Tournament games begin on Wednesday. The boys’ soccer, girls’ soccer, and field hockey teams were all selected to play in postseason tournaments over the weekend while the cross country teams wrapped up their season at the NEPSAC Cross Country Championships.

The boys’ soccer, girls’ soccer, and field hockey teams were all selected to play in postseason tournaments over the weekend while the cross country teams wrapped up their season at the NEPSAC Cross Country Championships.
Elizabeth Thayer ’14 finished fifth overall at the NEPSAC Division III Championships with a time of 20:18 to earn All-New England honors.
The boys’ soccer team (14-1-2) was awarded the No. 2 seed in the NEPSAC Class B tournament after finishing just one point shy of an ISL title. Coach Bob Pipe’s team will host No. 7 Wilbraham & Monson Academy (11-4-2) on Wednesday afternoon on Nonesuch Field.
The girls’ soccer team (12-0-3) was also awarded the No. 2 seed in the NEPSAC Class B tournament after finsihing their second consecutive undefeated season just one point shy of an ISL championship. Coach Susanna Donahue and the Red Wings will host No. 7 Hopkins School (10-4-2) on Wednesday afternoon on Davis Fields.
The field hockey team (8-7-1) will play its first-round game on the road as the No. 6 seed in the NEPSAC Class C tournament. Coach Emily Hamlin’s team will play No. 3 Greens Farms Academy (13-5) at Loomis Chaffee School in South Windsor, Conn. on Wednesday afternoon.
