On Saturday, December 6, the Rivers School Conservatory will be putting on its annual Wassail Party that includes musical performances, a gourmet buffet dinner, and a silent auction and raffle. Taking place at 5:30 p.m. in Corkin Auditorium, the event also features performances by The Rivers Youth Symphony Orchestra, The Rivers Brass Ensemble, Capriccio Chorus, and Marimba Magic.
More than twenty years ago, former Rivers headmaster Richard Bradley, for whom the newly built Bradley Hall is named, started the tradition of throwing the Wassail Party. According to director David Tierney, the night’s purpose has always been “to bring the community together” during the holiday season with food, music, and a festive environment. Through the silent auction, the evening also represents an opportunity for members of the community to contribute to the Conservatory’s scholarship fund for its students.
The auction will showcase items donated by local businesses and organizations, including Anderson’s Jewelers, Boston Symphony Orchestra, Elizabeth Renee Esthetics, Family Guy writer Alec Sulkin, Tutto Italiano, and Thunder Sporting Goods.
Tickets are still available and are $25 for adults and $15 for seniors and students. For more information, contact David Tierney at 339-686-2330.
