Rivers Athletics Announces New Strength and Conditioning Partner, Bando Performance

Starting this fall, a partnership with athletic training organization Bando Performance is reimagining strength and conditioning training at Rivers for the 2025–26 academic year. Through this collaboration, Bando Performance’s expert coaching staff will provide strength and conditioning oversight five days a week after school in the MacDowell Athletic Center for both Upper School and Middle School student-athletes. In addition, Bando Performance will lead team-specific and program-wide training sessions, both in-season and out-of-season, supporting the development of every Red Wing student-athlete.

“We are thrilled to welcome Bando Performance to the Rivers community,” says Director of Athletics Kristin Cannon. “Rivers is committed to athletic excellence, and this new partnership gives our student-athletes the highest quality training experience, all in our on-campus facilities.”

Though the school year just started, student-athletes are already appreciative of the new partnership. Boys’ hockey captain Evan Handler ’26 gave a shout out to one of Bando Performance’s coaches, Luke Glancy, saying, “Luke and [his team] have been awesome so far. He’s managed kids of all levels and made sure that the workout fits for everybody.”

“It’s been a great start with Bando here on campus,” said Kate Hayes ’26, captain of girls’ varsity hockey and girls’ varsity tennis. “It’s a very thorough and complete workout that’s tailored to my needs, and I’m excited to continue to grow and develop before my senior seasons.”

The partnership aims to enhance Rivers’ commitment to athletic excellence by providing students with top-tier training on campus. The collaboration is expected to help Rivers student-athletes reach their full potential, ensuring a strong foundation for additional future success.
