    This course is offered as a private lesson to interested students who have taken Techniques of Music or an equivalent course. Students explore various 20th century techniques with a firm background in traditional musical forms.

  • Private Lessons

    The Rivers Music School believes that being placed with the right teacher is vital to a student's progress and enjoyment of music. After an evaluation, the student is assigned to a faculty member who best meets the student's needs and personality.

    Lessons are offered on a weekly basis for all orchestral instruments, piano, guitar, and voice. Students are able to take 30, 45, and 60 minutes lessons during our 32-week school year.

    Private lesson tuition includes:

    • Frequent evaluation of student development through workshops, mid-year progress reports, and evaluations.
    • Rehearsals and performances with professional accompanists
    • Student recitals
    • Master classes

  • Techniques of Music (Theory)

    This unique and exciting program is dedicated to teaching all the traditional elements of musical theory the way Mozart learned--through composition. Every element of traditional theory is covered, including solfege, rhythm, and ear-training. Graded workbooks provide a complete and extensive curriculum from reading notes all the way to composing a symphony. Students learn how to use computer notation programs to facilitate the composition process.
