Rivers Celebrates Opening Of Bradley Hall

Rivers officially opened the new Rivers School Conservatory building named Bradley Hall after former Headmaster Richard Bradley.

On Sunday October 28, Rivers officially opened the new Rivers School Conservatory building named Bradley Hall after former Headmaster Richard Bradley (1981-1991).

The warm yellow glow of the Rivera Recital Hall was filled with members of the Rivers community as they listened intently to The Rivers School Conservatory's String Faculty and guests play three moving pieces of classical music.

Special solos were played by A. Ramón Rivera on the piano and Magdalena Richter on the violin. Rivers alumnus Alex Barstow ’07, currently a freshman at Tufts University/New England Conservatory, played the viola with the orchestra.

The event was also an opportunity to thank the many people who helped make the new building a reality. In addition to a significant number of donors, Rivers School Board of Trustees President, Roy MacDowell; Bob Buonato ’81, Trustee and Chair of the Facilities Committee; current parents Oliver Curme and Cindy Curme, Trustee and Member of the Conservatory Committee; Mark Schuster ’72, Trustee and Chair of the Building Committee; and David Tierney, Director of The Rivers School Conservatory, were honored for their dedication to the project. In addition, architect Richard Wills, as well as the general contractor Ben McGovern and project manager Paul Slazik, were thanked.

“The faculty concert and reception was a wonderful opportunity for the entire community to celebrate the opening of Bradley Hall, a facility that supports our mission to be a premier community conservatory,” said David Tierney.
