Two members of The Rivers girls' lacrosse team were selected for the All-New England All Star game this spring season, while fifteen spring athletes earned honors in the Independent School League (I.S.L.). In addition, athletes from each of the spring sports teams received special awards from their coaches.
Girls' Lacrosse
Senior co-captain Allie Page and senior Megan O'Brien were chosen for the N.E. Prep School Women's Lacrosse Association All-Star Game. In addition, Page received the I.S.L. All-League Award and the Team Player Award, given to that player of the Girls' Lacrosse Team who, through her unselfish and dedicated play, demonstrates the ideals of a Rivers athlete: persistence, diligence and the pursuit of excellence.
Senior Eleanor P. McIntyre earned the Most Improved Player Award, given to that player of the Girls' Lacrosse Team who has shown the most improvement over the course of the season.
Boys' Lacrosse
Finishing the season with a strong 10-6 record, the team was led by senior tri-captains Mark Goodrich, J.J. Strombosky and Mark Eaton who were all selected for the All-New England All-Star Game and received I.S.L. All-League Awards. In addition, Goodrich was also chosen for the Under ArmourĀ® All-American Game and was awarded The Ferris Thomsen Jr. Award, given to that senior who shows the most improvement, enthusiasm and overall value to the team.
Strombosky received the team's Most Valuable Player Award, given to that player who made the most significant contributions to the team and who the coaches believe the team benefited from the most because of the recipient's involvement.
Senior Billy McNamara and juniors Michael Jordan and Zachary Weeden earned I.S.L. All-League Honorable Mention Awards.
Softball
Senior co-captains Hillary Ain and Lauren Creedon showed their leadership skills throughout the season and earned awards from their coaches. Ain was awarded the Varsity Softball Award, presented by the coaches to recognize a player who throughout her career has dedicated herself to the betterment of the Rivers softball program through leadership, sportsmanship and team commitment. Creedon earned the Coaches' Award, presented to the Rivers softball player who the coaches believe made the most significant progress and impact in skill development and team play. In addition, she received an I.S.L. All-League Honorable Mention Award.
Junior Katelyn Landry had an excellent season and was named I.S.L. All-League. Sophomore Emily Creedon and senior co-captain Rebecca Hayes earned I.S.L. All-League Honorable Mentions.
Baseball
Senior co-captain Gus Brewer was named I.S.L. All-League while senior co-captain Brett Deware earned The Andrew N. Navoni Award, presented annually to the member of the varsity baseball team who best exemplifies the qualities of leadership, superior sportsmanship, total dedication and desire for competitive excellence. In addition, he received an I.S.L. All-League Honorable Mention.
Sophomore Bryan Ginsberg was given the team's Most Improved Player Award.
Golf
Junior co-captain Jeff Devereux received The Charles R. Metchear, III Award, given annually to that member of the varsity golf team, who by their high standard of desire, perseverance and good sportsmanship has made an exceptional contribution to the team.
In addition, junior Todd Seresky earned the Coach's Award, presented to the player who exhibited outstanding determination, focus and improvement throughout the season.
Boys' Tennis
For the second consecutive year, the varsity boys' tennis team captured the New England Class C title. Senior co-captain Sam Harrison and twin brother Alex Harrison both earned the Tozzer Tennis Award, given annually to the member(s) of the Rivers varsity tennis team whose determination and mental discipline together with his sense of fair play have brought integrity and respect to Rivers, himself and tennis.
Girls' Tennis
Senior co-captains Katherine Muto and Anna Crystal earned I.S.L. All-League Honorable Mentions for their high level of play. In addition, Muto received the Tozzer Tennis Award. In addition, Crystal was given the Coach's Award which is given to the player who has exhibited growth in the game, excellent sportsmanship and a dedication to Rivers athletics.
Track
Both the Rivers boys' and girls' track teams had an impressive season this spring. The boys' team was lead by co-captains senior Eddie Benjamin and junior Grady O'Brien. O'Brien earned the Most Valuable Athlete Award for running while junior Julian Zeng received the Most Valuable Athlete Award for field events.
Seniors Alex Byer and Alyssa Kaitz served as co-captains for the girls' team. Freshman Caroline Bullion was given the Most Valuable Athlete Award for running while senior Michelle Davis received the Most Valuable Athlete Award for field events.
