Darren Sullivan Named Head Football Coach
Assistant football coach Darren Sullivan was recently promoted to head coach of the school’s varsity football program.
Assistant football coach Darren Sullivan was recently promoted to head coach of the school’s varsity football program. He has served as an assistant of that team since 1995.
“Having been an excellent assistant coach, Darren has a tremendous understanding of the school, the respect of our students and a passion for the sport,” said Athletics Director Jim McNally. “He truly is a student of the game.”
He has been the defensive coordinator of the Rivers football team since 1998. Sullivan has also been the head coach of Rivers’ varsity baseball team for more than a decade. As head baseball coach, his teams have made two trips to the New England Championship Tournament.
At Rivers, Sullivan is a full-time faculty member who teaches history. In addition, he has a master’s degree in education from Boston University. As an undergraduate at Tufts University, Sullivan played on both the football and baseball teams.
