    Rindy Garner joined the Rivers art department in 2001, teaching sculpture and ceramics in the Upper School. In addition, Rindy advises ninth and tenth grade students and is faculty advisor for the GSA. She has chaperoned service trips to Montana and Romania. Before coming to Rivers, Rindy taught at the Maine College of Art, the School at the Museum of Fine Arts, and the Cambridge School of Weston. Rindy has a BFA in sculpture from the Maine College of Art and an MFA with concentrations in sculpture, drawing, and performance art from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston/Tufts University. Rindy enjoys creating small, finely crafted wooden boxes and mixed media sculptures.

    Alexandra joined the communications and marketing office at Rivers in April 2023. Previously, she worked on the communications and marketing team at the Winsor School in Boston. Prior to that, she led communications and media efforts for the School of Engineering at Wentworth Institute of Technology and also worked as an English Teaching Assistant in Austria. Originally from Medway, Alexandra attended Montrose School in Medfield. She holds a BA in music and Italian from Smith College, and an MS in strategic marketing communications from Fordham University. Alexandra also enjoys an active career as a professional classical singer and can be found as a soloist and choir member at several Boston-area churches, and as both a singing member and a board member of Nightingale Vocal Ensemble. Alexandra currently lives in Waltham, where she enjoys tackling interior design projects and trying out new recipes.

    Lily Gillett teaches sixth and seventh grade art. She is also a Middle School advisor and coaches Middle School field hockey and lacrosse. She has a BA in studio art with a minor in arts and education from William Smith College, where she played varsity field hockey. Before coming to Rivers, Lily was an art teacher and field hockey coach at the Bullis School in Maryland, where served as the art department chair for two years.

    Michael Girard has been teaching Latin at Rivers since 2002. Before coming to Rivers, he taught at the Bentley School in California and the Williams School in Connecticut. Michael has coached Middle School girls’ basketball and junior varsity baseball. He has also served on the discipline committee. He is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate in Latin and Greek from the University of Vermont and received an MA in classics from Fordham University.

    Elisa Goldsmith is a French teacher in the Upper School. Before coming to Rivers, Elisa taught French at Noble and Greenough School, at both the middle school and upper school levels. At Rivers, she serves as chair of the language department and coordinator of the French student exchange program. Elisa earned a BA from Bates College and an MA and PhD in French literature in the comparative literature program at Brandeis University.

    Kendall is a seasoned development professional with over eight years of fundraising and stewardship experience. Prior to joining The Rivers School, she worked at the Boston Latin School Association in stewardship and development operations. Kendall has also held roles at The Chestnut Hill School and Emerson College. She has a B.A. in History and Anthropology from the College of Wooster. In her free time, Kendall is a member of the Just Zero Advisory Board, a non-profit working to implement zero waste initiatives nationally.
