Our Faculty

Our faculty members are the foundation for everything we do. Their skill, enthusiasm, and ability to build meaningful connections with students are at the heart of the Rivers experience. Not only are our faculty members experts in their disciplines, but they are also role models and mentors, coaches, and practicing artists and scholars in their own right. It begins in our Middle School, where teachers are attuned to the special cognitive and social needs of this age group. Faculty in the Rivers Middle School support each student’s growth and development, drawing out individual strengths and interests.

In the Upper School, you’ll be challenged and pushed to explore your interests through a variety of disciplines. Our comprehensive curriculum rewards curiosity, ignites creativity, and teaches you to be an independent, critical thinker. Through it all, you’ll be supported by nurturing relationships and partnerships with our faculty, who are dedicated to helping you identify and maximize your talents and strengths and prepare you for whatever comes next.
Our Families

As you will come to know, the strong Rivers community extends beyond the school day and the classrooms—our families are a very important part of the Rivers experience and a very supportive group. As new parents and caregivers, you will be paired with a current Rivers family who will be an invaluable resource for you. They will share advice and answer any questions that you have during the summer and fall. Please don’t hesitate to lean on them; they are here to help!
Our Families

As you look for ways to strengthen your own connection to the Rivers community, we encourage you to consider becoming involved with the Parents’ League and to participate actively in the many school and grade events. Doing so is a great way for you to learn more about Rivers, meet other parents, and build the kind of bonds with others that will be both helpful and rewarding to you during your years here.
Our Students

Rivers students are as varied as their interests, talents, and passions. But one important factor unites them: They are invested in their education and excited about taking charge of their own Rivers journey. At Rivers, you’ll have the opportunity to pursue academic subjects at the highest level, in courses ranging from robotics to Mandarin to ethics. You’ll discover your passions in an atmosphere of supported risk-taking, where students are encouraged to explore new subjects and travel as far as their curiosity can reach.
Our Students

Our rich, exciting learning environment extends beyond our classrooms to a rich array of student experiences. Woven into the fabric of the Rivers experience are outstanding resources in the performing and visual arts, and a standout athletics program that uplifts and inspires. You have the choice to explore nearly 50 student-led clubs and organizations during the school day.
Beyond that, Rivers fosters deep connections within the wider community through hands-on engagement.
