Camper’s Choice in a Woodsy Paradise

Choice guides our programming at Camp Nonesuch. Campers choose from a wide variety of activities for each two-week session and have the opportunity to learn a skill or activity from beginning to end with counselors and campers who share those interests. Woodworking? We have it! Field games and outdoor sports? We have those too! Crafting more your style? We have a variety of arts and crafts projects and board games for some indoor camp experiences. And of course, campers can take advantage of the beauty of Nonesuch Pond itself to go sailing, kayaking, or swimming. With seven activity blocks per day, campers craft their ideal day of camp, growing socially and making new friends along the way.

FAQs

  • Are all activities open to all campers?

  • What is the schedule of activities?

Each activity meets daily during the session. There are seven activity blocks per day, five reserved for elected activities, one for lunch and finally a day ending seventh block with a choice of free swim, board games, arts and crafts, or our always popular game of the day. Campers choose their seventh block activity each day.
  • When do campers sign up for activities?

Campers sign up for activities the week prior to their attendance in a particular session. Campers make four choices (numbered one to four in order of desirability) in each activity block based on their interest. We strive to give as first choices as possible but must also provide an equitable experience for all campers in a particular session.
  • Can a camper change their program?

Campers can make minor changes to their schedules on the second day of each session (“switch day”). After the second day of the session, campers' schedules are fixed until the next session.
  • Do campers always get their first choices from their activity sign-ups?

We make every attempt to give campers as many first choices as possible in the program. However, it is important to understand that a priority of our program is to give all campers in a particular session the most ideal schedule.
