Lyons specializes in the treatment of anxiety disorders in adults and children. Her book, which she co-wrote with Reid Wilson, “provides families with a jargon-free, step-by-step plan to solve the puzzle of anxious, avoidant kids. Learn the difference between healthy worrying and debilitating anxiety and gain concrete skills to parent your child or teen. Action, not avoidance, is the key to success. By following this powerful program, you will model and encourage optimism and allow your child to grow with independence and courage.”

She also co-authored with Wilson a companion book for young adults entitled Playing with Anxiety: Casey’s Guide for Teens and Kids. In the book, the 14-year-old narrator “shares her own experiences and those of her friends to teach kids and teens the strategies to handle the normal worries of growing as well as the more powerful tricks of anxiety. She tells stories, offers exercises, and describes her ‘solving the puzzle’ approach that kids and their parents can use to address all types of worries and fears.” The books, as well as her videos, will be available for purchase after the talk.
