DEI Weston Walk @ Regis College

Many communities and schools are beginning to do land acknowledgments and think more about what it means that we are inhabiting stolen land from Native peoples. How can we go beyond the surface and do the work at Rivers to consider the land we use and “own”? In alignment with Native American Heritage Month, the DEI office invites Rivers 9-12 students to Regis College’s campus for structured interactive ~60-minute programming to reflect on our current conceptions of property and land in small groups with Regis College students. We will begin to consider what our institutions can do to recenter the Indigenous peoples whose land we now call “Weston.” This event will take place on Friday, November 12th during last period. Transportation to Regis will be provided. Participating students need to RSVP here, get permission from their parent/guardian, and coordinate any missed work with their F block teacher. The workshop will be capped at 28 students.
