Meet the Admissions Office
Gillian M. Lloyd
Director of Admissions and Financial Aid
Gillian has served as Director of Admissions at Rivers since 2000. Prior to that, she served as the director of admissions at The Governor’s Academy as well as working at a number of colleges and universities in their admissions offices. Gillian has also been a marketing and communications consultant. She graduated from Middlebury College with a BA in American Studies and earned her master’s in education from Harvard University.
Alex P. Stephens
Associate Director of Admissions, English
Alex came to Rivers in 1992 and became the Associate Director of Admissions after working in the Development Office. He served as the faculty advisor for The Rivers Edge from 1994 to 2008. He has also coached varsity and junior varsity tennis and was a class dean. Before coming to Rivers, Alex worked as a journalist and freelanced for publications that included The Boston Globe. He graduated from Union College with a B.A. in English and sociology.
Karin E. Senior
Assistant Director of Admissions, Diversity Outreach Coordinator
Karin came to Rivers in 1995 and taught French in the Upper School. In 2007 Karin became Assistant Director of Admissions and Diversity Outreach Coordinator in the Admissions Office. She has also been the assistant varsity field hockey coach and was a class dean. Before coming to Rivers, Karin taught at The Newman School in Boston. She is a graduate of Holy Cross College with a B.A. in English and earned a master’s in education from The University of Massachusetts - Boston.
Alan T. Ashenfelter
Assistant Director of Admissions, Coach
Alan Ashenfelter ’05 is an Assistant Director of Admissions. Alan graduated from Wesleyan University with a bachelor of arts degree in history and was selected for the All-NESCAC first soccer team in 2008. Prior to joining Rivers’ Admissions Office in 2012, he was a teacher and coach at Bridgton Academy in Maine. Alan is also an assistant boys’ varsity soccer coach.
Judith F. Schreider
Judi has worked at Rivers both in the Admissions Office and the Rivers Day Camp. She assists with the management of the Admissions database and the coordination of the Red Key tour guides. Before coming to Rivers, Judi worked in the Wellesley school system. She graduated from Connecticut College with a B.A. in American studies.
Anne works part-time in the Admissions Office as an Admissions Assistant. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan with a degree in marketing research and earned a certificate in culinary arts from Boston University. Anne also owns an online bookstore and has been a writer/editor for Cook’s Illustrated Magazine.
