Carlie Tarbell '11, Allison Brustowicz '11 Earn Defensive Player of the Week Awards

A pair of Rivers alumnae earned distinction for their athletic performances this week, taking home their respective leagues’ defensive player of the week awards. Carlie Tarbell ’11 of UNH field hockey and Allison Brustowicz ’11 of Union College women’s soccer both posted impressive weeks in goal, allowing just one goal in four games between the two of them.

This is the ninth time Tarbell has won the America East’s top defensive award in her UNH career. She posted a 1-1 record last week with a shutout against Drexel University and a 1-0 overtime loss to No. 12 Stanford University. Click here to read the full release from UNH Athletics.
 
Brustowicz stopped 18 shots and allowed no goals in a pair of wins over Wilkes and Rochester to earn the Liberty League's weekly award. With the wins, Union improved to 4-0 on the season with three wins coming in shutout fashion. Click here to read the full release from Union Athletics.
